The crite-t Air sticker, also known as the air quality certificate, is an official and secure document issued in France. It is assigned based on the data listed on the vehicle registration certificate and identifies the vehicle’s level of pollutant emissions according to European standards. This classification is used in particular to regulate traffic in certain areas based on environmental impact.

Which classification for which vehicle?

  • 0: 100% electric or hydrogen vehicles
  • 1: Gas or plug-in hybrid vehicles; petrol vehicles registered from January 1, 2011; motorcycles from January 1, 2017 and mopeds from January 1, 2018
  • 2: Petrol or hybrid vehicles from 2006 to 2010; diesel vehicles registered from January 1, 2011; motorcycles from 2007 to 2016 and mopeds from 2007 to 2017
  • 3: Petrol or hybrid vehicles from 1997 to 2005; diesel vehicles from 2006 to 2010; motorcycles and mopeds from mid-2004 to 2006
  • 4: Diesel vehicles from 2001 to 2005; motorcycles and mopeds from mid-2000 to 2004
  • 5: Diesel vehicles from 1997 to 2000
